Highlights of the ROA Annual General Meeting
The twenty seventh Annual General Meeting of the Racehorse Owners Association took place on Monday the 16th of March 2026 at Turffontein Racecourse. We are pleased to advise that all Ordinary Resolutions and the Special Resolution was passed with 100% of the votes in favour. We therefore would like to formally welcome Andrea Puggia as a non-executive Board Member.
A proud member of the Racehorse Owners Association since 2001, Andrea believes unity and collaboration are essential for the future of South African racing, along with attracting younger participants through syndication. His enduring enthusiasm, loyalty to the sport, and appreciation for its history and characters define him as a dedicated and respected racehorse owner.
Update on the future collaboration between 4Racing and the ROA
Following discussions reported at last year’s meeting with regard to the advancement of the collaboration between the ROA and 4Racing, we are pleased to report that since that time, meaningful progress has been made, with a number of positive changes implemented and a clear strategy now in place aimed at enhancing and promoting the raceday experience, strengthening the overall ownership journey, and driving growth in both horse numbers and ownership participation.
A key development has been the formalisation of the partnership between the ROA and 4Racing through a Service Level Agreement. Under this framework, the ROA team have been working closely with 4Racing’s Marketing and Events and Hospitality departments to ensure strong alignment, effective collaboration, and the best possible utilisation of shared resources in pursuit of our common objectives. As part of this collaboration, work is also underway on the development and launch of a refreshed Owner Proposition, which is envisaged to sit under the 4Racing brand and which we intend to introduce in the coming months. Further details will be shared with members as the initiative takes shape and the offering becomes more clearly defined.
