Rise & Shine at TAB Fairview: Celebrating the Eastern Cape Racing Community

The Eastern Cape racing community came together for a wonderful morning at TAB Fairview Racecourse on Saturday, as more than 100 guests gathered for the Rise & Shine Breakfast over Algoa Cup weekend.

Following an exciting day of racing on Friday, the morning brought together established owners, new owners, prospective owners, racing enthusiasts and visitors from out of town. Guests enjoyed a beautiful breakfast, freshly poured mimosas and deliciously brewed coffee, with plenty of opportunity to catch up with familiar faces, meet fellow owners and share their passion for the sport.

One of the highlights was the opportunity for owners to watch their horses during early-morning track work, offering a special behind-the-scenes glimpse into their preparation. The breakfast also welcomed Eastern Cape apprentices, whose presence added to the occasion and highlighted the importance of encouraging the next generation of racing talent.

A sincere thank you goes to all the trainers who supported the initiative and invited their owners to attend, as well as Racing Today for their presence and support. The fantastic turnout was a testament to the warmth, enthusiasm and camaraderie that make the Eastern Cape racing community so special.

The breakfast also provided an opportunity for the ROA to bring the community together while introducing Equora, the new owners’ division within 4Racing, to the region. Several guests signed up as members, including new social members, and it was encouraging to see such interest in becoming more involved in the racing community.

Looking ahead, Equora will continue to create opportunities for owners and racing enthusiasts to connect, enjoy exclusive experiences and share in the excitement of the sport. These initiatives will form part of the Equora membership experience, with events and activities available to Equora members and their guests. For those who joined us at Fairview but have not yet signed up, now is the perfect time to become part of the Equora community and enjoy the experiences and connections that lie ahead.

The Rise & Shine Breakfast was a fitting celebration of the people who make racing special and a wonderful part to a memorable Algoa Cup weekend. Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the morning such a success!
