Rise and Shine Winter Breakfast
The Racehorse Owners Association once again welcomed members and racing enthusiasts to Randjesfontein on Saturday, 18 July for another memorable Rise and Shine Breakfast, bringing together owners, trainers and newcomers for a relaxed morning celebrating the unique experience of racehorse ownership.
While winter delivered a crisp morning, guests were greeted with warm hospitality as they enjoyed complimentary coffees, breakfast buns and breakfast burritos served by local food and coffee trucks stationed at The Acreage. The welcoming atmosphere provided the perfect setting for members to catch up over breakfast while witnessing the excitement of morning work.
As the sun rose over Randjesfontein, attendees watched horses being put through their paces, gaining a fascinating insight into the dedication, preparation and teamwork that takes place long before raceday. For many, it was an opportunity not only to enjoy the views of but also to experience the quieter side of the sport and engage with fellow owners and racing enthusiasts.
A highlight of the morning was the exclusive behind-the-scenes stable visits to the Sean Tarry and Corné Spies racing yards. Guests were given the opportunity to see first-hand the exceptional care and attention afforded to the horses, while learning more about the daily routines, dedication and expertise required to prepare thoroughbreds for the racetrack.
The ROA extends its sincere appreciation to Sean, Corné and Xander, their teams and stable staff for generously opening their yards and sharing their knowledge with our members. Experiences such as these play an invaluable role in showcasing the passion, professionalism and commitment that underpin our industry, while giving both owners and prospective owners a deeper appreciation of what makes horseracing such a remarkable sport.
A special thank you is also extended to The Acreage Venue for once again providing exceptional hospitality and creating the perfect setting for the morning, and to JC Photographics for capturing the memorable moments throughout the event.
