Streaking Star was the first of St John’s winners at Turffontein Racecourse on 27 April when winning a Maiden Plate over 1200 metres. The three year old colt that went off at 12-1 won by two lengths under the rider of Luke Ferraris. Streaking Star was bred at Grayston Stud – Modus Vivendi (GB) – Starstruck by Parade Leader (USA). Later in the day St John’s favourite, Jive Express, won a Maiden Plate over 2000 metres with Gavin Lerena in the saddle. This three year old filly has earned two seconds and a third place before breaking her maiden status. She is another successful thoroughbred from St John’s stable, Grayston Stud – Modus Vivendi (GB) – Dance Alley by Jam Alley (Aus). The two victories earned St John the RA Owner of the Week Award.
