2025 Betway Summer Cup Barrier Draw
The final field draws for the R6 million 2025 Betway Summer Cup were unveiled at a vibrant event at Katy’s Palace in Kramerville on Wednesday, 19 November.
Current punters’ favourite The Equator drew 3 thanks to part owner Willem Ackerman, and the son of Galileo will be partnered by Gavin Lerena for the Tony Peter stable in the big race. He will be jumping right alongside defending champion Atticus Finch from the Alec Laird stable, who drew stall gate 2. Calvin Habib rode the son of Master Of My Fate to victory in 2024 and will be in the irons again on the 29th of November.
Peter Victor did the honours for 2023 winner, Royal Victory and drew 14 for the Nathan Kotzen charge. Clybe Basel revealed that the strapping son of Pathfork will be partnered by Chad Little for this year’s event.
Sean Tarry drew the 20 slot for Legend Of Arthur and Malesela Katjedi will be tasked with working out how to overcome the widest draw, come the big race.
